Ascend the Highest Ice Climb in the Midwest - Stratosfear

Now accepting reservations for a guided ascent of Stratosfear.

Stratosfear is the highest ice climb in the Mid Continent. At 775 feet it is 4 pitches long. The first 2 pitches are in a steep snow gully that is ice based. The top 2 pitches are blue ice with grades of 4 and 3.
Trip is limited to 2 participants.

Day 1

We head out to complete a 2 pitch ice climb of grade 2-3 difficulty near Batchawana Bay. Client will learn how to remove ice screws and how to enter and exit hanging belays off Ice Screws and Rock Bolts (see our Intermediate Ice Course outline).

Day 2

We leave the office early, pre-dawn, and drive to the staging point. We will access the climb using a snow machine, towing a sled carrying all climbing gear. The normal time for the ascent of Stratosfear is approximately 4 hours for party of 2 and 1.5 hours to rappel.

Cost: $650.00/person.

Includes 3 night's accommodation, 2 days of guiding, climbing gear, and transport to Stratosfear.
